Shyne Barrow speaks on ambitious plan for ten thousand houses in Belize

Stemming from the DFC Loan Motion presented today, Leader of the Opposition, Shyne Barrow spoke on the housing situation and what he terms as an ambitious plan for ten thousand houses for Belize.

Moses “Shyne” Barrow, Leader of the Opposition: “The DFC needs fare more than $20 million dollars in capitalization in order for the government to meet its promise of 10,000 houses which has been amended to providing the environment for 10,000 houses to be built that was not the initial promise. Nonetheless I am happy that the government is listening to the opposition who called them on their fairytale of giving away 10,000 houses and demanded that they provide a housing solution in which the Belizean people can have access to financing. I’d love to see those interest rates lowered and I’d love to see more capitalization so more Belizeans can have a pathway to affordable housing.”
