Corales was killed on June 18, 2019 when a 15-year-old was driving an SUV and subsequently knocked her off her bicycle as she rode across the pedestrian ramp on the East Ring Road near Our Lady of Guadalupe RC School in Belmopan. Corales was on her way home from school when the incident occurred. In the courtroom this morning the magistrate was reportedly presented with a letter from the Director of Public Prosecutions confirming that the charges are being withdrawn.
