The Student Government of St. John’s Junior College started an online petition to express their solidarity with the BNTU. Marissa Cervantes, a student at the Junior College spoke about the objectives of the petition. She said it has amassed five hundred and sixty seven signatures.
“It was an online petition as I understand currently having 567 signatures. It is a petition in support of the BNTU and it is particularly of SJCJC. The social media we are the generation for that and we are in tune with that so these 567 petitions are of us the students in support of the BNTU and in solidarity. It is online so everyone is welcomed to take a view.”
The signatures reflect about half of the Junior College’s student population.
