A storeowner from Hope Creek Village, Stann Creek is still shaken up after being robbed at gunpoint yesterday. Thirty-eight-year-old businessman, Brian Li, says a little after eight o’ clock in the morning he was approached by three men. They were dressed in civilian clothing, traffic reflecting vests, caps and face masks; and one of them was wielding a firearm. Reports say that Li believed that they were construction workers who were working on the Coastal Road. However, one of them suddenly pointed the firearm at him while the other assailant went behind the counter and began taking money from the cash register. According to Li, the robbers stole thousand dollars in cash as well as electronic devices, cigarettes and alcohol. Correspondent, Harry Arzu, spoke with Li who gave a breakdown of the incident.
The perpetrators also made away with Li’s licensed gun valued at two thousand, six hundred dollars and a box of ammunition valued at seventy five dollars. Li says he received injuries to his head and back and sustained a cut wound to the forehead.
