28-year-old Jose Velasquez is expected to be arraigned on a number of charges for Friday’s stabbing of a call centre agent in Belize City. Over the weekend, Velasquez was charged with attempted murder, the use of deadly means of harm and dangerous harm. The charges stem from the incident in which 23-year-old Bryan Coleman was stabbed. Commissioner of Police Chester Williams shared more details.
Chester Willams, Commissioner of Police: “Three young men were socialising in a yard on Courteney Crescent in Belize City when they had a misunderstanding that led to a fight between them. One of the young men who lives at the place where they were socialising, went inside, got a knife, came out and inflicted the stab wound on the other person and the person was taken to the hospital in a stable condition. The suspect has since been detained, arrested and charged for dangerous harm, use of deadly means of force and harm, and attempted murder.”
