Son of Senior Police Officer Remanded for Stabbing Incident

The son of a senior police officer was remanded to the Belize Central Prison today for allegedly stabbing two men. Dwayne Sutherland Jr. appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court charged with two counts of attempted murder upon Tony Anthony and Russell Sylvester Anthony; two counts of use of deadly means of harm, threatening behavior, and wounding upon Tony Anthony. He was denied bail and remanded until October thirty first. The incident is said to have stemmed from a family dispute on August 19 in Lemonal Village Belize district. Sutherland is accused of stabbing the two men who are both over the age of sixty. They were transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where Russell Anthony is listed in stable condition while Tony Anthony was listed in critical condition.
