Southern Villager Sentenced for Having Stolen Military Uniform and Stolen Firearm

A villager of Aguacate in Toledo was charged and sentenced in connection with three criminal offences. Correspondent Paul Mahung reports.

“The incidents occurred in Aguacate Village as explained by Officer in Command of the Toledo Police Formation, Superintendent Simeon Alvarez.”

“A 27-year-old  housewife of Aguacate village reported to the police that on the 19th of January 2016 at around 9am whilst at her home a young man known to her as Nicholas entered her home armed with a machete and wanted to assault her by grabbing her. As a result of that he managed to make good his escape with a BDF uniform belonging to her husband. As a result of that police formally arrested and charged Nicholas Mas, a 22-year-old male of the said village for the crime of aggravated burglary and was taken before the Magistrate’s Court here in Punta Gorda where he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to seven years in prison. He was also charged for the BDF uniform and the charge for that was handling stolen goods where he also pleaded guilty and was sentenced to one year imprisonment. In the same village sometime around the 22nd of July and the 23 of July 2015 Bernard Choco, a farmer of that village, reported that his home was broken into and that a 16 gauge shotgun was stolen. The weapon was valued at $900. This firearm was recovered yesterday and again Nicholas Mas wa arrested for the crime of handling and being in possession of an unlicensed firearm.”

“Authorities confirmed that Nicholas Mas is now serving his prison sentence.”
