Specialized units to be deployed at tourist hotspots

The Belize Police Department will be out in full force this Easter holiday, according to Commissioner of Police Chester Williams. ComPol says that keeping law-abiding citizens safe this holiday season is of utmost importance to the police. Here’s how ComPol Williams explained yesterday. 

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “We are stepping up our policing efforts across the country particularly those areas we know Belizeans normally travel to during the Easter holidays. We’re looking at San Pedro, Caye Caulker, Placencia, Seine Bight, San Ignacio, Hopkins you know and members of our specialized units are being deployed to these areas to make sure that our residents who go to these different parts of the country to spend time with their family or to recreate that they can do so in somewhat a safe environment.”
