Prime Minister John Briceno’s reluctance to announce a date for the next general elections has left much room for speculations. The new date being tossed around is March 5 on the logic that the government would want to call it before the budget reading and debate. Regardless of the date drawn for the elections, the campaign season has clearly begun as several standard bearers have launched on social media. For PUP’s Kareem Musa, while he can be confident of a repeat victory in Caribbean Shores, he believes that he still needs to carry out a political campaign.

Kareem Musa, Minister of Home Affairs: “I try to stay as grounded as possible within my constituency, visiting homes of my constituents. And so that is certainly going to be intensified in 2025 because this is an election year. And so it is my hope that we’ll be meeting with our committee this week and hopefully start the campaign within the next few weeks.”
Reporter: Do you think you guys will pull off a clean sweep?
Kareem Musa, Minister of Home Affairs: “It’s possible but I don’t know. I don’t know whether it will be a clean sweep, but I think it’s very possible given the current state of the United Democratic Party.”
Musa has been an elected representative since 2015.
