SSB CEO Deborah Ruiz to Step Down After 42 Years

The Social Security board will get a new Chief Executive officer in the near future, as current CEO Deborah Ruiz will not be renewing her contract. Ruiz confirmed that she will leave office after working at the SSB for just over forty-two years. Ruiz served as the Acting CEO from 2019 to 2021 following the departure of former CEO Dr. Colin Young. She officially became CEO in August 2021, and her contract expires this August. Speculations are that Dr. Leroy Almendarez will take up the position, but when we asked, he replied only with, quote, “My role is Executive Director of BELTRAIDE,” end of quote. We’ll keep following this story.
