Stake Bank Enterprises To Take Legal Action Against Government Over Definitive Agreement

The Definitive Agreement’s scandal seems nowhere close to dying.  As a matter of fact, it seems that things are just getting started.  Earlier this week, we told you of the notice from Stake Bank Enterprises sent to the Government of Belize, giving them until Thursday, June 8 to declare the Definitive Agreement as invalid or null and void.  The deadline has come and gone, and the Government has not responded.  In its letter to the Prime Minister, Senior Counsel Glen Godfrey explained that not only should they declare the agreement as invalid, but that they should also refrain from taking any steps to pass and/or enact any primary and/or subsidiary legislation in furtherance of the Port of Magical Definitive Agreement.  Love News understands that the Stake Bank attorneys have already begun the paperwork to file a claim in court on Monday.
