Each of the eleven classrooms at Stella Maris School will now be better equipped to meet the educational needs of the students. Today, the school received a donation of almost a dozen Inclusion Corner toolkits that will be used to provide a more holistic approach to teaching children with diverse abilities. Principal Francelia Cantun, explains that each child has an individualized educational plan (IEP) that is tailored to their specific need. She adds that by including these toolkits in their curriculum, they will be able to achieve optimal results.
The toolkits were donated by the Ministry of Education through the National Resource Center for Inclusive Education (NARCIE). According to NARCIE Special Education Officer, Juanita Cadle, a group of fifteen special education officers came together to put their experience together and were able to curate this kit.
