A Belize City man was caught smoking cannabis on Conch shell Bay yesterday. 37-year-old Lionel Ritchie Tillett was arraigned this morning before Magistrate, Stephanie Gillett in Court on a single charge. Allegations are that yesterday, January 15, PC Alejandro Romero found him smoking cannabis whilst under a shed. In court, Tillett was unrepresented so he wasted no time and pleaded guilty to the offense. Magistrate Gillett imposed a non-custodial sentence of a fine of $150.00 plus a $5.00 cost of court fine upon Tillett for the offense. She granted him until February 15 to pay the fine in default 2 months’ imprisonment.
