Stray Cow Incident Prompts Police to Urge Farmers to Monitor Livestock

The country’s top cop is pleading with farmers in the south to keep a close eye on their livestock after a stray cow led to the death of a man. Over the weekend, 26-year-old Lokenver Montero crashed into a cow on the Thomas Vincent Ramos Highway. The animal had been already hit twice when Montero collided with it and fell to the pavement from his motorcycle. The Dangriga resident succumbed on Monday morning, highlighting the danger wild livestock poses to motorists. Today, Commissioner of Police Chester Williams weighed in on the issue and stated that the department may be able to levy charges against the cow’s owner.

Montero spent three days fighting for his life before he succumbed to his injuries.
