Super babies celebrated by BFLA

SUPER BABY 2

Super babies were celebrated today at the Belize Family Life Association. What is a super baby you ask? It’s an infant or toddler who has gotten all their vaccination shots.

Super babies were celebrated today at the Belize Family Life Association. What is a super baby you ask? It’s an infant or toddler who has gotten all their vaccination shots. It is extremely important for babies to get their shots on time so as to prevent deadly diseases such as measles. Babies who are too young to receive their vaccinations rely on herd immunity, which is why it is also important for adults to be up to date on their shots. Nurse Christobel Diego is in charge of the Maternity and Child Health Unit at BFLA. She spoke to us about how the organization assists with vaccines.

We also spoke to the super dad, whose baby was also chosen as the super baby of the day. He told us what it means to be there every step of the way.

This is an event that BFLA hopes to continue every year.
