Super Sale Event Coming to Belize City Downtown

Another Super Sale in Belize City comes up next month in the downtown area.  It is an event that has grown rapidly, and one that Mayor Bernard Wagner said he adopted from an event he witnessed in the United States.

Bernard Wagner, Mayor of Belize City: “Super Sale has really gotten its own brand. It has evolved into a marketplace for residents of our city. Prior to 2018, there was this dull type of city. Now you are seeing where entrepreneurs are no longer ashamed of selling their services, selling their products, going out there on a Saturday morning, preparing your tent, preparing your booths to get some sales for yourself. The businesses along that road continue to enjoy significant sales opportunities on any given Super Sale Day. We are so excited that we were able to grow from 15 business houses at the first one to now over 150 we average, we average in terms of entrepreneurs in terms of the booths, in terms of the existing business that operate within the area. There’s a new life in the city in terms of economic activity, in terms of entrepreneurship and we say, man we never anticipated this to occur out of one little idea that I saw in Oakland, California, which they call Last Friday. And I went to one of them and I said, why can’t this happen in our city ? And it has evolved and now you see it all across the country.”

The Super Sale will take place on August 5.
