Suspected drug traffickers’ airstrip destroyed in Santa Teresa Village

As Police investigate the whereabouts of the drugs from last week’s plane landing, local authorities were able to destroy a suspected airstrip in another area in the south.  Reports to our newsroom say that both the military and the Police, with support from the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, were deployed to Santa Teresa Village, Toledo District.  In that village, they were able to use heavy equipment to disrupt the operations of drug traffickers by digging up the strip.  We understand that no one was found in the area at the time of the operations nor were any drugs or firearms found.
