Taiwan donates $8 million to Belize

The Republic of China (Taiwan) (VO) is one of Belize’s staunch allies that continues to contribute to Belize’s development. In this regard, this morning His Excellency Remus Li-Kuo Chen, Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan), presented a bilateral cooperation grant of eight million dollars to the Prime Minister of Belize, Dean Barrow for the purpose to help the overall national development and key infrastructure projects of Belize.   The grant will be used to finance key infrastructure projects, including the rehabilitation of the Philip Goldson Highway from Belize City to Haulover Bridge; rehabilitation of the Hummingbird Highway, and upgrading of streets and drains in the South Side of Belize City. The grant falls under the Bilateral Cooperation Program between the two countries.
