In February, the Republic of China (Taiwan) donated sixty thousand US dollars earmarked for trade development to the Government of Belize. As a part of the initiative, two investment missions to Belize is expected to take place in order to increase foreign direct investments in Belize’s major sectors and as a result promote economic growth. The first mission will comprise of eight Taiwanese delegates who will visit the country for one week from June 23 to June 29. During their visit, the delegation will be facilitating several meetings and touring various sites in Belize. The intention is for the delegation to provide strategic industry insights, through tailor-made meetings and site visits with key industry executives and decision makers in both the public and private sectors. Another mission is scheduled to arrive in the country in October and will focus on agriculture.
