Transportation operators in the nation’s capital have gone on record to explain their concerns with the high cost of fuel. This comes after premium gas jumped today to twelve dollars and eleven cents per gallon. Compared to where we were a year ago, the retail price of all fuel classifications – premium, diesel, regular and kerosene – have all increased by more than two dollars. In some cases, the increase is almost three dollars per gallon. Correspondent Fem Cruz hit the pavement and spoke to a few drivers about the issue.
For its part, the Government continues to say that the price change reflects the current demand and supply conditions of crude oil in the international petroleum market and fluctuations in the acquisition price of refined fuel products in the countries from which Belize obtains its supplies.
