PINE STREET

Teachers and Students locked out of school

Teachers and students from the Pine Street Preschool were restricted from entering the campus yesterday. We understand that the teachers were locked out by the proprietors, Felicia Anthony and Sherlette Slusher.

Teachers and students from the Pine Street Preschool were restricted from entering the campus yesterday. We understand that the teachers were locked out by the proprietors, Felicia Anthony and Sherlette Slusher. The story is somewhat complicated as Love News understands that the owners were teachers whose license were not renewed by the Ministry of Education.  We were also made to understand via documents sent to our newsroom that the building and property belongs to the Government of Belize and not the two women.  WE have sought comment from one of the women, but we were unsuccessful.  The Ministry of Education is holding a press brief over this issue and the way forward for the 75 preschoolers who are now forced to stay home until the matter is resolved.  We will have the highlights of tomorrow’s conference in our subsequent news reports.
