Several teachers out west are having their own go-slow movement today due to what they say are unpaid increments and monies owed. Our newsroom received a copy of a message sent out to parents indicating that they will need to collect their children as they do not have the adequate personnel for supervision and classes. One school affected by this go-slow is Saint Andrew’s Primary School in San Ignacio Town, Cayo District. We have reached the President of the Teachers’ Union, Nadia Caliz, but she has declined to comment on record. We do understand, however, that the union is upset over the situation as proper procedures were not followed in coming to this decision of a go-slow. Love News has reached out to the Ministry of Education for an update on this latest situation.
