Teen attacked by Croc in Belize District

Tonight, a 17-year-old remains hospitalised after he was attacked by a large crocodile in the Belize District late Wednesday afternoon. Love News understands that the teen was with some friends swimming when the incident happened. The teen’s mother, Sharret Young told us via phone today that her son continues to recover.  A warning to our viewers: the following images may be disturbing.

Mother of injured: “So just as how, *inaudible* understand it from my son that they were in Lemonal Village and they were in the water having fun, enjoying the water because the weather was hot and as he was about to come out from the river, he bucked on something on shore, right on shore and when he bucked it, he knew that it was a crocodile so he jumped and it’s when he jumped, the crocodile just snapped and bit him on his feet. Terrible. Right now he’s not having the fever anymore but on Wednesday he was having a high temperature and the foot was infected and this morning they drained the feet and now he’s doing pretty okay. Thank God. My advice to everybody is just: Keep out from the river cause these things are in there and they’re dangerous and it could have been worse for my son because I have a been contacted saying it was an 8 feet crocodile and it’s just by the Grace of God that that crocodile didn’t, you know, spin all over and hook him under or he could have even bitten off one of his feet. He could have left with only one foot so my advice is, for everybody, just stay away from the water.”
