Teen Drowns After Baptism During Church Picnic in Gracie Rock

Cayden Stuart drowned shortly after being baptized during a Queen Street Baptist Church picnic on Saturday. The event, which took place around 10am at Samuel’s Farm in Gracie Rock Village, was attended by approximately 37 church members. Following the baptism, a group of attendees went swimming, engaging in a game that involved a ball. At one point, the ball was thrown a distance away, prompting Stuart to swim after it. However, he ventured into deeper waters, where he struggled and ultimately went under. Despite the efforts of church members to rescue him, by the time they retrieved his body, it was too late. Our newsroom spoke with ACP Hilberto Romero, Officer Commanding Eastern Division, who explained his understanding of what transpired.

A post-mortem examination is pending; however, initial reports suggest that there were no visible injuries to the body. Police are investigating.
