Teenager Remanded for Alleged Cell Phone Robbery

A nineteen-year-old Belize City resident has been remanded to the Belize Central Prison for allegedly stealing a cell phone. Daveion Dougal appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court charged with a single count of robbery. He stands accused of robbing Kendale Sabal of the phone, valued at three hundred and fifty dollars. Dougal pleaded not guilty to the charge but since the alleged offense reportedly involves a firearm, bail could not be granted in the first instance. He is due back in court on November 23.
