Crime is not only an issue for hardened criminals but also for the young. Two teens were charged with burglary today before Magistrate Emerson Banner. On Tuesday, Fabiola Vargas reported to the police that her home at 28 Sarstoon Street was burglarized between 5:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. She said electronic items, cell phones, jewelry and $1,700 in cash were stolen from her home. The total value of the stolen items was $5,620. The police detained 19-year-old Christian Molina and a 16-year-old minor for the crime. Officers said they recovered some of the stolen items but they did not recover the money. Both teens told Magistrate Banner that they were beaten by the police. Molina told the magistrate the police placed a machete near his private area and threatened to remove his manhood. Molina and the 16 year old minor pleaded not guilty and they were offered bail set at five thousand dollars each. The case was adjourned until January 28, 2019.
