Ten Belizeans Deported from the US

Ten Belizeans were brought in this morning via the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.  The US agency is currently escorting dozens of Central American citizens back to their respective countries including Belize.  The plane landed just before nine o’clock this morning at the Philip Goldson International Airport and the nine men and one woman were processed by Belize Immigration officials then escorted to the Belize City Police station by members of Special Branch where they will be further processed.  The individuals have served time in a US prison for various offences ranging from drug charges to robbery and fraud.  They had been living in various cities and states including Atlanta, Houston, Boston, Detroit, New Orleans, Los Angeles, San Diego and Buffalo.  The deportees are Luvia Castelain, Herman Flowers, George Gallego, Denver Gray, Arthur Hoare, Alfonso Ozaeta Jr., Neal Soberanis, Micah Thompson, Errol Thompson and Ryan Williams-Gomez.  These Belizeans are among 100 men and 12 women with criminal histories who were taken into custody by ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations officers last week.  According to an online article printed this week, these individuals met the top two priorities of the US Department of Homeland Security.  Priority 1 targets are those deemed as threats to national security, criminal street gang members, convicted felons and aggravated felons while Priority 2 targets those convicted for three or more misdemeanors or convictions for significant misdemeanors.
