After, a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic the La Ruta Maya Belize River Challenge is back. The four-day canoe race is considered to be Belize’s biggest sporting event that begins at the Hawkesworth Bridge in San Ignacio and ends at the Belcan Bridge in Belize City. This year thirty-two teams will be competing in eight categories for the grand prize. One of those teams is the Belize Coast Guard.
