And while the starving crocodile didn’t stand a chance after getting mangled in mangroves, there are several healthy animals on display at the Belize Zoo. All eyes were on the dozens of inhabitants as a soft reopening took place on Saturday after a two-week closure. Reporter Courtney Menzies paid a visit to the zoo and learned more about what has been going on during their closure.
The Zoo urges visitors to continue practicing COVID-19 safety measures, such as wearing masks, sanitizing hands, and maintaining a six-foot distance.
