In September of 2020, it was announced the Government would be building a new centralized fire station on a 1.5-acre plot of land on Chetumal Street. it’s been more than a year later and still, the Marion Jones Sporting Complex in Belize City remains the home of the National Fires Service. The good news tonight is that the construction of the new site will begin this year. Minister Orlando Habet explains why there was a delay.
The National Fire Service was relocated because its previous headquarters was sold by the U.D.P. administration to Atlantic Bank Limited in 2020.
