The Lobster Season comes to an end

The Fisheries Department has announced that the Caribbean Spiny Lobster season will close tomorrow. The closed season is in accordance with the harmonized regional lobster regulation implemented by the Organization for Central American Fisheries and Aquaculture Sector. The department reminds the public that any person found in possession of lobster during the closed season will be prosecuted. Additionally, fishers are reminded that lobster traps should be removed from fishing grounds during the closed season. The Department says it will be actively enforcing the removal of traps from the waters during this period and advises the public is advised to report any illegal fisheries activity.
