The Met Office Says La Nina May Pose Some Challenges

The 2021 Atlantic Hurricane Season has been extremely busy with about twenty named storms, a number of them making landfall in parts of the Caribbean and North America. But La Niña may have an impact on the remainder of the season. That’s because forecasters say that the phenomenon, which brings colder-than-average sea surface temperatures, has arrived in the tropical Pacific. Chief Meteorologist Ronald Gordon explained, however, that this does not mean we should be complacent in our efforts to prepare for a storm.

According to the U.S,-based National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), La Niña will likely affect temperatures and precipitation – including rain and snow – in North America.
