The National Fire Service Receives Three New Firetrucks

The National Fire Service is on the receiving end of some much needed fire trucks. It’s been a while coming and the department intends to make full use of them immediately. Dale McDougall found out more.

As for the older trucks that have been used for far too long, Gillett says that they are being replaced because they are unsafe for the department’s use.

Collin Gillett, Fire Chief, National Fire Service: “With all the trucks that we’ve received and this is actually the sixth airlift truck set that came we have already started to weed those out. So if you ever pass by the Ladyville Fire Station a lot of them are there, they’re already put up because one we have to make sure that our firefighters are safe and it’s not safe to drive a truck that can’t stop or the pump doesn’t work or it’s actually breaking in half. So we’re trying to make sure that as we get new ones or better ones we take the others off the run.”
