The Police formation in the Belize District will see an improvement in its investigation tactics and communication skills among the different precincts and formations. On Tuesday, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Howell Gillett, assumed command of the entire Eastern Division and is implementing a series of initiatives to improve efficiency in the department. He stated that they are looking at a number of areas where they are deficient and are looking at ways how to implement better strategies of keeping abreast with criminal activities. In an interview with Love News, Gillett explained that one of the areas of improvement is the way officers in different divisions network with one another.
Gillett stated that they are also planning future initiatives on how police officers can build a better relationship with the community.
