A third suspect connected to the stabbing of 20-year-old Evan Pook Jr. is tonight behind bars at the Belize Central Prison. Twenty-one-year-old Kafele Stephan Jahred Paul appeared unrepresented in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court earlier today. Paul was read four criminal charges: attempted murder, dangerous harm, use of deadly means of harm, and theft of a Samsung A4 cellphone valued at $500. The phone, belonging to the victim, was in a black case when it was stolen during the attack. Due to the serious nature of the charges, no plea was taken from Paul, and bail was denied. He has been remanded to the Belize Central Prison until his next court date on January 7, 2025. Paul joins 23-year-old Stacy Letticia Antonio, a BDF soldier, and her boyfriend, 26-year-old William Alexander Flowers, who both face identical charges. The pair, residents of the Lords Bank area in Ladyville, were previously remanded to prison. The incident occurred on Tuesday night, December 3, 2024, in Lords Bank. According to police reports, around 9:30 p.m., Pook Jr. was walking along a feeder road when he was attacked and stabbed multiple times. His cell phone was stolen during the assault. Pook Jr. is currently recovering from his injuries as the investigation into the case continues.
