Three men walk free from the murder of Raheem Requena

COURT NEWS VO 1

Keshawn Gentle, Kenneth Barrow and Jermaine Garnette walked free from a murder charge after being on remand for seven years.  They appeared before Justice Marilyn Williams in the Supreme Court this morning.

Keshawn Gentle, Kenneth Barrow and Jermaine Garnette walked free from a murder charge after being on remand for seven years.  They appeared before Justice Marilyn Williams in the Supreme Court this morning.  The DPP Crown, Porsha Staine Ferguson entered a Nolle Prosequi.  The nolle prosequi was necessary as the crown’s main witness, the aunt of the deceased had fled the country in fear of her life and has not returned. Justice Marilyn Williams informed the three accused men that while they are free for now, the DPP can bring back the case of murder against them once they get the evidence they need to proceed in a trial. All three accused men were out on bail granted to them in early 2019 by the Supreme Court in the sum of $25,000 with conditions. The murder took place in December 2012.  The trio allegedly gunned down 19-year-old Raheem Requena six days before Christmas.
