Further to the south, in the Toledo District, police in Punta Gorda Town are investigating the fatal shooting of seventy-year-old businessman, Kevin Brown. His lifeless body was found riddled with bullet holes yesterday afternoon at his home in San Antonio Village. He had been shot to his chest, left palm, right side of his back and near his left ear. His body was found by his friend Jim MacArthur, who then informed Brown’s wife, Reinette Brown. Today, Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams, says the murder appears to be a robbery that went fatally wrong.
Brown’s body was taken to the Punta Gorda Hospital after six o’clock and he was pronounced dead on arrival. Kevin’s daughter, Lee Brown, is offering a two-thousand dollar reward for any information that leads to the arrest of the killer. Brown was the owner of The Farm Inn about a mile beyond San Antonio on Jalacte road in Toledo.
