Toledo man burns down his brother’s house

A man from the Toledo District has been charged by police for intentionally setting his brother’s house on fire. According to police, around midnight on Saturday, 44-year-old Francisco Bo Jr. was at home in Santa Theresa Village when he was awakened by the sound of screaming. Upon making checks, Bo was alerted by his two sons that the house was set ablaze by their uncle 42-year-old Miguel Bo. The men then called the police and efforts were made to extinguish the blaze but not before the structure was completely destroyed. Police Press Officer, ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, says that Bo has since been arrested and charged with arson.

ASP. Fitzroy Yearwood, Public Relations, Belize Police Department: “I know that these persons were officially charged after advice from the DPP’s office. Miguel Bo 42 years was charged for the crime of arson and this stems from a report from Francisco Bo a 44 year old farmer where he is alleging that he was asleep with his two sons sons in his residence and they began shouting that the house was on fire. He is saying that when he got up the eastern portion of the thatched house was completely engulfed in flames. The value of that house, that thatch is just 12,000 Belize dollars. We detained Miguel Bo and like I said he has since been charged.”
