Toledo Man Granted Bail Pending Appeal of Sexual Assault Conviction

A Toledo man who is appealing a conviction of sexually assaulting a minor was granted bail today in the High Court of Belize. Forty-one-year-old Dagoberto Garcia appeared in court represented by attorney Orson Elrington for his bail application hearing. The High Court justice granted the bail application considering the pending appeal to the conviction and set the value of the bail at ten thousand dollars plus two sureties of five thousand dollars each. Garcia’s bail came with the condition that he must remain indoors from six pm to six am. His appeal date is set for October 6.
