Toledo Villager Shot by Nephew

A man is at the Southern Regional Hospital after he was shot early this morning in the village of San Pedro, Columbia, Toledo. According to reports, 28 year old Eulalio Chiac was at the San Pedro Columbia bazaar on Sunday evening when his nephew allegedly threatened to kill him. Hours after, as Chiac walked home through a feeder road at 2:00 a.m., his nephew allegedly walked up to him and shot him. Chiac received wounds to his left arm and rib cage and was transported to the Punta Gorda Hospital and then onto the Southern Regional Hospital for further treatment. Paul Mahung reports.

Paul Mahung: “An early Monday morning shooting incident in San Pedro Columbia Village in Toledo has left two persons hospitalized. Initial information indicated that sometime between 1 AM and 2 AM 28 year old Elulaio Chiac and 26 year old Orlando Choc were walking on there way home when they were fired upon. Chiac who received multiple gunshot pellet wounds to his left arm and left rib cage area is the Punta Gorda Hospital. Choc who received multiple gunshot pellet wounds to his lower back was transferred to the Southern Regional Hospital in Dangriga. No arrest has been made so far as Police investigation continues.”

 ACP Joseph Myvett: “Ellalio Chiac suffering from apparent gunshot injuries. He was in a stable condition and he reported to the Police on Sunday whilst at a function in San Pedro Colombia he had an altercation or a confrontation with a family member of his and later on whilst he was going towards his home, in an isolated area he was approached by the said person who fired shots towards his direction causing the said injuries. Following up on that said investigation Police were also called back to the Punta Gorda Hospital where they observed one Orlando Chuc suffering from gunshot injuries from the same incident in San Pedro Colombia. In relation to this investigation one person is being sought.”
