Tourism industry still assessing damage after Lisa

The tourism industry also sustained losses in the wake of Hurricane Lisa, which made landfall on November 2. Although a final price tag has not yet been determined, assessments are still ongoing. Love News asked Minister of Tourism and Diaspora Relations, Anthony Mahler about it yesterday.

Anthony Mahler, Minister of Tourism and Diaspora Relations: “Initial reports that I’ve seen is somewhere between $5 million and $6 million in damages. We have gotten lucky. It could have been worse and so the prime tourism destinations are ready to go for this high season.”

Reporter:  In terms of that damage was a damage to property?

Anthony Mahler, Minister of Tourism and Diaspora Relations: “Business, and other things.”
