Tracy Panton: Commission of Inquiry should have helped to fix the system

And while Martinez did not want to talk about the inquiry, we asked Albert Area Representative Tracy Panton for her views on the matter. She says that not only was it a political witch hunt, which cost tax payers a lot of money, but it did not do much to change the system.

The Commission of Inquiry, chaired by Senior Counsel E. Andrew Marshalleck, was organized to investigate the sale of assets by the Barrow Administration. Since the commission’s work ended, former Prime Minister Dean Barrow and his former Deputy, Hugo Patt have successfully sued the Government and were awarded a combined 330 thousand dollars in damages. It is likely another former minister will sue.
