Another perspective on this general elections has to do with the way campaigns were handled and the amount of money spent on Election Day. Speaking on this was Tracy Panton who also noted that her mission was accomplished in getting rid of Moses Shyne Barrow.

Tracy Panton, Leader of the Opposition: “I think if you were vigilant on the ground on Election Day as members of the media you’d note the huge, insane amounts of monies were spent not only in Collet but in other constituencies. It is a blow to our democracy that we have gotten to the place where money is going to determine the future of this country. Patrick Faber as you know is a colleague of mine, is a formidable politician, I enjoy his support and he will have a very prominent role to play in the UDP as we move forward.”
Reporter: Let’s look at the success in Mesop. Would you say mission accomplished ?
Tracy Panton, Leader of the Opposition: “Mission accomplished.”
Reporter: How much do you attribute Mr.Chang’s win to you maybe being here today ?
Tracy Panton, Leader of the Opposition: “Our mandate that we received on October 20th at the UDP convention that was held at the Civic Center was for us to defend our democracy. To do everything we can to heal and restore the trust and the confidence of the people in the United Democratic Party and Lee Mark’s win in Mesop is indicative of our commitment to making good on that mandate.”
