A mentally unstable man was found dead with as many as seven chop wounds to the left shoulder and head. Punta Gorda Police were called out to an area along the seaside near the fishermen cooperative wharf just before midday today where they found 44-year-old, Jennison Vernon faced down in the water. Love News understands that Vernon, a longtime resident of that municipality was just released from prison some three weeks ago and was homeless up to the time of his death. Senior Correspondent Paul Mahung spoke with the victim’s cousin, Daniel Vernon.

Daniel Vernon, Cousin of the Deceased: “We appreciate the concern from the society and the fact that we had found the lifeless body of my cousin Dennison. Unfortunately he was found in the ocean side with apparently chop wounds to his upper torso. He was found in the early hours of this afternoon that is what we have received reports from that. But knowing that Dennison who had recently been released from the police Hattieville Prison had been in and out of jail for the past couple of years and being a homeless person he was known in the town as “Shilling” because he used to always on the sense of being homeless he always used to be begging for quarters since he got that name “Shilling” which is local known by. In the fact of the way in which he had died we only ask the cooperation of the public in finding the culprits or whoever is responsible for because regardless of one’s past or whatever we should not necessarily take the law into our own hands. Therefore we ask the assistance of the public in finding the culprits as many other issues before we ask the complete support of the public in whenever crimes like these occur because it can touch your door at any time.”
Vernon’s body was retrieved from the water and taken to the Punta Gorda Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 12:40 this afternoon.
