The Belize Transport Department released a strict warning to the electrical motorcycle (scooter) users. This morning’s press release said that all electrical scooters must be licensed and registered before operating on public roads to avoid any legal matters. It was said that driving one of these vehicles under the age of 17 is strictly prohibited and drivers must be in possession of a valid driver’s license in the appropriate class. The Transport department also stressed on the usage of protective equipment such as helmets and protective eye gear when driving an electrical scooter. Lastly, anyone importing these vehicles for profitable services are expected to have a Dealers’ General License from the department.
