Transport Minister Rejects Claims of Political Bias in National Bus Company Legal Retainer

Minister of Transportation Dr. Louis Zabaneh is pushing back against concerns that the Ministry’s decision to retain the legal services of Courtenay Coye LLP for matters relating to the National Bus Company was politically motivated.  Questions have been raised in some quarters over whether the selection of the firm, which includes well-known People’s United Party senators, reflects political bias rather than a purely professional procurement decision.  Appearing publicly to address the issue, Dr. Zabaneh rejected the suggestion of favoritism, maintaining that the Ministry’s focus remains on securing competent legal expertise to properly structure and support the National Bus Company initiative.
