Transport Ministry Warns Against Moving Houses Without Permits on Highways

The Ministry of Transport says it has observed an increase in persons transporting houses on the highways without the necessary permits. The ministry notes the instances pose a danger to the public and reminds stakeholders that any movement of houses on public highways requires prior approval from the ministry. Incidentally, just after eleven o’clock this morning, a house was being transported on North Front Street in Belize City.  It forced drivers to either remain in a long line or divert.  Minister of Transport Rodwell Ferguson spoke on this concern.

Fergusons says the department will continue to closely monitor the country’s highways.
