Transport Modernization Deadline Looms: Are Bus Owners Ready for Year-End Update?

In January, the Minister of Transport presented the Cabinet with recommended standards to fully modernize the public ground transportation fleet by the end of 2024. The phased approach to this modernization will first focus on omnibuses, followed by buses and taxis. Operators are expected to update 50% of their fleet by the end of December 2023. With the end of the year fast approaching, are bus owners ready to meet the end-of-year deadline? Reporter Kendra Romero went to experience firsthand the bus conditions in the city.
