A triple funeral was held today at the University of Belize’s Gym in Belmopan. The funeral was for retired police officer Eduardo Wade, his daughter Lourdes Wade, and his daughter-in-law, Mayra Alcoser. Despite the fact that Eduardo was retired, the Commissioner of Police had stated that he would receive an official police funeral. The funeral was attended by almost 2000 people, officers as well as civilians. The accident that took the lives of these three persons occurred on November 27 on the George Price Highway. Seven persons passed away as a result of the accident. The Wade/Alcoser family were on their way to their home in Belmopan after attending Eduardo’s son’s graduation into the Belize Coast Guard. Justin Wade had not seen his family in three months, but had told us that he was trying to be strong in this difficult time.
