Today, the ongoing triple murder trial of twenty-five-year-old Kyle Zetina, was adjourned until mid-December due to his attorney, Norman Rodriguez, being ill. Zetina is being tried in the Belize High Court for the triple murder of Excelsior High School’s former Vice Principal, 44-year-old Alarice Andrewin; 39-year-old Vidal Antonio Yuman, and 19-year-old Maria Juarez. The new trial date has been set for December 16. The trial began back in June before Justice Candace Nanton, with Senior Crown Counsel Sheiniza Smith prosecuting the matter. Since the commencement, the prosecution has called as many as 16 witnesses in the trial proper, and 16 more witnesses in a voir dire. The victims, Andrewin, Yuman, and Lucas were found brutally murdered at a house that Andrewin was renting out at Mile 10 and a half on the George Price Highway, on June 4, 2018. Zetina was originally jointly charged with Shawn Flores, but Flores was acquitted of the charge on June 28 of this year.
